Process

How it works

Six steps from referral to resolution. Each stage produces a record, and the record is what makes the process effective.

  1. 01

    Submit the case

Send the debt through the portal, email or a connected system.

  2. 02

    Case review

We review the debtor, debt, contractual information and supporting evidence.

  3. 03

    Recovery begins

The debtor is contacted through a structured commercial recovery process.

  4. 04

    Responses are managed

Payments, promises, disputes, evidence, offers and communications are recorded against the case.

  5. 05

    Formal escalation

Unresolved cases can progress through formal pre-action stages.

  6. 06

    Claim preparation

Where appropriate, unresolved cases can be organised and prepared for the appropriate court process.

Recovery stages

Cases progress through defined stages. Reaching an advanced stage does not mean court proceedings have started — we only describe proceedings once a claim has genuinely been issued.

STAGE 0

Case Review

Debtor, debt, contractual information and supporting evidence are reviewed.

STAGE 1

Formal Recovery Notice

First formal commercial recovery correspondence to the debtor.

STAGE 2

Notice of Continued Default

Issued where no payment or substantive response has been received.

STAGE 3

Notice of Intended Claim

The creditor is considering commencement of court proceedings.

STAGE 4

Final Pre-Action Notice

Final pre-action review stage before claim readiness.

STAGE 5

Claim Readiness Review

Case record, calculations and evidence assembled for review.

STAGE 6

Court / Authorised Escalation

Only where a claim has genuinely been issued or authorised escalation applies.

What changes the process

Payment received

Recovery correspondence stops immediately.

Payment promise

Routine recovery pauses until the promised date.

Promise broken

The next appropriate recovery step resumes.

Substantive dispute

Recovery pauses and the evidence is reviewed.

Evidence needed

We ask the client for it before escalating.

Settlement discussion

Recovery pauses while the offer is considered.
