Privacy Policy

How we handle personal data in the course of commercial recovery.

Draft pending legal review. This document has been prepared operationally and has not been approved by a solicitor. Final wording requires separate legal review.

Controller

Retail ABC Ltd, trading as UK Financial Law, determines how personal data is processed in the course of providing recovery services, and is a controller for that processing. Where we process client data purely on instruction, we act as a processor under the data processing terms.

What we process

In the course of a recovery matter we typically process:

  • business contact details for the debtor organisation and its representatives
  • transaction records including invoices, auction records, bids and terms acceptance
  • correspondence with the debtor and with the client
  • payment, dispute, settlement and arrangement records

Lawful basis

We process personal data on the basis of the legitimate interests of the creditor and of UK Financial Law in recovering sums properly due, and where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Retention and rights

Case records are retained for as long as necessary for the recovery matter and for any period required for legal or accounting purposes.

Individuals may make a data protection request by contacting debt@uk-financial-law.co.uk.

UK Financial Law is a trading name of Retail ABC Ltd. We provide commercial debt recovery and claims-management services. We are not a firm of solicitors or enforcement agents.
